Highly motivated, self starter seeking a Technical position in a network design area where diverse, comprehensive expertise in architectural design, systems management, problem solving, and great initiative to get the job done would be needed.
Technical Background:
Very in-depth experience in designing/configuring/implementing Cisco routers (1700 – 7200 Series), Cisco Switches (2900 – 6500 Series), Cisco Remote Access Servers (as53xx), Cisco Pix Firewalls, Cisco Intrusion Detection Modules/Appliances.
Physical Topologies include: Fast/Gigabit/Wireless Ethernet, POTS, PRI, ATM, ISDN, DSL, Cable Access technologies, and Frame Relay.
Proficient in the following Protocols: IP, IPX, SNA, NetBEUI, DLSW, and Source Route Bridging. Proficient with various routing protocols including – RIP, OSPF, EIGRP.
Very comfortable in building large scale multiprotocol networks and configuring them to run efficiently using methods that include: Redudancy, VLAN, Subneting, and QOS.

Virtual Private Networking using Cisco VPN3000 Concentrators using integrated authentication back to Active Directory and site VPN’s with Cisco IOS routers.

Evaluate new technologies for the company by researching and implementing in a test environment while simulating live characteristics.
Serve as the lead role for designing/integrating and managing implementation of all new major networking projects.
Serve as Top-Tier support for the existing Networks in the entire company. This includes Ethernet, Wireless Ethernet, ATM, and Token Ring topologies along with all point to point and ATM remote sites.
Serve as Top-Tier support all remote access into the Company network including Analog/ISDN dial and Virtual Private Networking.
Administer all Internet connections throughout the company and the accompanying access permissions
Implemented 5 digit dialing across company and use of data lines for inter-company communication with installation of Nortel ITG cards into existing Option 81 switches.
Provide In-House developed courses and training for other Network Engineers/Specialists and Telecom Employees that work for the Company.
Accomplishments:
Designed, Planned, and managed configuration/installation of multiple networks in two new large 1400+ Room Convention Hotels. Each hotel has a total of 15,000 Ethernet ports for various uses. Also Designed, Configured, and implemented new networks for existing Nashville Hotel that included a Guest Network for 2800 Guest Rooms.
Introduced a Gigabit Ethernet backbone to the Nashville campus, integrating it with an existing ATM/Token Ring network that is being removed.
Reworked all access into corporate network including replacing analog only Shiva equipment with a Cisco as5300 and PRI. Implemented the first VPN for the company using existing software as proof of concept. Later purchased and implemented appropriate equipment after business case was made.
Implemented new Security for Network Admins to access all network equipment by using a combination of tacacs and Radius which Integrated with Existing Active Directory user information. Also designed, tested, and implemented a new company wide wireless authentication mechanism using 802.1x/EAP-TLS.

Designed, planned, and implemented a 2000 node Intranet for both the Home Office and 120 remote offices via a VSAT Network. This including introducing TCP/IP to a previous SNA only network.
Later integrated a new wide area network into the existing VSAT Network, eventually replacing all 120 sites with Frame Relay
Implemented Web, Mail, and Proxy Servers to allow employees new email capabilities and Intranet/Internet access through the corporate network.
Implemented various WAN’s into existing network to support new applications with other companies.
Implemented several server PC based systems to replace mainframe systems that were not Y2K complaint.
Implemented methods to allow a mixed environment of various Operating Systems/Computers to communicate with common Applications.
