Mini Chopper Progress

Well, I finally got to the shop to do a little body work! I didn’t start taking pictures until after the etching primer got sprayed.

The above picture is right after being sprayed with Etching Primer. The primer is made by DuPont, but I don’t have the number for it handy.

Here is another picture at a different angle…

Sportster Tank stripped and Etched

Picture of the tank right after it was completely stripped using a variety of sanding methods to remove all the paint down to bare metal and then Etched.

One more angle of the tank before bodywork started. Notice that dent shining out from under the primer just to the right of the gas cap.

To perform the sanding accurately, I use a piece of DA paper wrapped around a paint stick. This method is probably more preferred on flat panels as apposed to something curvy like this tank. However, it still did the trick in making sure everthing was straight.

I actually bought this bike and just changed a couple of things on it. However, I have everything documented and need to just draw it up.
